Theme for this week ” A Taste Of Vintage.”
For this week’s challenge Michael and I headed over to the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor Connecticut. It was closing when we arrived but one of the volunteers let us stay and take some photographs on this old Reading Railroad boxcar.
The Connecticut Trolley Museum is owned and operated by the Connecticut Electric Railway Association. It is the nation’s oldest incorporated organization and is dedicated to preserving the trolley era.
The museum offers it’s visitors a three-mile round trip streetcar ride with an educational narrative along the way. The museum is well maintained by volunteers and only employees one person. You will enjoy exploring the grounds with it’s many artifacts and rail equipment owned by the museum. They even have a special haunted train ride for Halloween if that’s your thing. It’s going to be a perfect weekend…perhaps take the family and go explore an era that was from the good ole’ days!
