“Capturing the Joy of Life”… it’s my motto and how I try to approach life each day.
My life…a gift from God. One I will never take for granted and try to live each day as if it was my last.
My faith…which has shaped me into the woman I am today. My best friend and hubby Charles…who has taught me that I can achieve anything I can dream. He is my most precious prize and I simply adore him.
Michael…my handsome, energetic, adventurous son who was forever keeping his mom on the edge of her seat during his teenage years. He’s the greatest gift Charles and I ever received and I’m happy to be called his mom.
I love the early mornings when it feels like I’m the only one in the world awake and everything is fresh, crisp and new.
Gardening and getting my hands in the Earth’s soil have always been a love of mine, the newness of Spring, walking the beach and hearing the sounds of nature as well. I prefer sushi over pizza, and jeans and flip-flops over dresses and heals.
Traveling to new places and meeting the locals is another huge passion. One of my favorites places to visit is the island of Jamaica where I have given back to the folks I have met throughout the years. Nothing warms my heart more than these moments when I hand a children books or new clothes and the smile that lights up their face. I take time to photograph these families and each year when I return I bring them back their images. Many have nothing and these moments I capture for them are priceless and I know how very much these images touch their inner souls and they are grateful. My son and I for years have brought the Jamaican people things we take every day for granted like the sandals off our feet, school supplies, books and clothing. They truly jump for joy when we give them candy! These special times I will forever cherish. God willing, I hope to continue to take these trips all around the world. Learning…exploring…giving.
I love fresh flowers to brighten my kitchen, dancing, baking while watching the snow fall and hanging with good friends laughing ‘til my belly hurts. I also believe in hard work and celebrating life’s important moments. Above all, my heart and soul always brings me back to the sounds of the seashore…always so peaceful where I love to walk hand and hand with my soulmate with sand between my toes…grateful for all I have been given.
