I am blessed each and every day I see joy in something that happens before my eyes through the lens of my camera.
Joyful Reflections was born out of a desire to share this joy with others. There is joy in your life… let me help you capture and cherish it for years to come.
As your photographer, my goal is to create an atmosphere that is as casual or as formal as you would like, but relaxed and fun while striving to capture those feelings, emotions and expressions of what comes natural. This way each image is as unique and special as you! One that tells a story! I may even kick off my shoes, dance around, or lay on the ground to capture those shots when you least expect it. Each photo session is exciting, fresh and exhilarating for me. Always bringing joy….because it’s my passion!

The best place for these joyous moments to be photographed is outdoors in the natural light. The best lighting comes with the morning or early evening sun. Meet me in a field, an orchard, in the city, around an old building or a college campus you love. You may choose the comfort of your own home surrounded by things you love, but for the best lighting it must be near a window in the early afternoon.
For children, it’s best to find a location where they can laugh, play and be themselves. Perhaps a local park, a farm, the beach or your own backyard. Shooting outdoors also helps children to feel and be more relaxed and allows me to capture those unique and special moments. I love discovering new places to photograph and would love to hear your ideas!

Clothing is one of the most important elements to consider when planning your session.
Keep it simple! The clothing you choose should compliment not only you but the environment in which your photo session takes place. This key decision determines the final outcome of your portraits. I suggest my clients wear casual comfortable clothes free of any logos, large patterns or stripes. Coordinate colors but they do not have to match. Vibrant and popping combinations can be fun too! Let your children’s personality shine through. Feel free to bring all sorts of hats, scarves, boots, umbrellas, and their favorite toy. Brings lots of options…we’ll have fun mixing and matching! For the babies, best naked, bare foot and fancy free! They are natural and beautiful in their own skin.

For Seniors, it’s your final year of high school and time to celebrate the unique person you’ve become! So bring whatever props help express you! Perhaps your musical instrument, sports equipment, even your car. Bring along friends…we’ll do a group shot!

I limit the number of sessions I take on a monthly basis so I recommend you book as early as possible to make sure I am available for you!
The creation fee for your session is due upon scheduling or within seven days before your portrait session. If I do not receive payment within this time frame, I have the right to offer the date and time to another client. This guarantees the spot I have reserved for you. This fee is nonrefundable if you cancel your session without a 48 hours advance notice.

Your portrait session will usually last around one hour, but I will take whatever time is necessary to make sure everyone is relaxed and having fun so I can capture them at their best. With children I will take a few posed shots, and the let them play and be themselves. I will even join in to create a comfortable environment and allow them to warm up to me. Remember children can have their own agendas but not to worry this can make for a more fun-filled experience. This allows me to capture special moments in between and guarantees each one of my sessions is unique.

After your session, my creative process begins as I go through each image and carefully hand pick the very best images that will appear in your gallery. I will then spend time editing a few images that will be shared on Facebook or posted to my blog. These images along with the others will be uploaded to your own private on-line gallery. Here, you can view your proofs at your leisure and share them with friends and family. After choosing the images you would like, I take pride in my editing process which can take approximately one to two weeks.

I am available to consult with you over the phone and personally go over your images, discuss possible framing choices and share ideas for displaying your final portraits.

Orders must be placed within 3 weeks of receiving your proof gallery.

Photos can be ordered directly from your gallery simply by clicking on “buy this photo” which will appear on top of the image. Follow the instructions to order the print sizes or wall portraits you want. Digital downloads and photo gift items are also available directly from the website. All items will be shipped to you in approximately 1-2 weeks after placing your order.

I will send you a password to your gallery via email. The gallery will allow your family and friends to view your photos for 30 days unless otherwise requested.

After that time, the gallery will automatically expire and your images will be archived. To have a gallery re-installed will result in a $25 fee. Ordered images will be kept on file for one year should you ever desire additional portraits.

It is my sincere hope that your portraits will be cherished family heirlooms for years and years to come. Your portraits are printed on high quality photo paper at a professional lab. Handle your portraits with utmost care. Keep them away from the damaging UV rays of the sun by not putting them directly across from a window. Perhaps use UV retardant glass available at custom frame shops. Any damage that may incur as a result of improper handling, framing or hanging is the responsibility of the client.
