My son Michael just came home from attending Peter Pan surf camp in Narragansett, Rhode Island and what a time he had! Not only did he meet some wonderful new surf buddies he truly became quite the surfer! Yes he did! He took 1st place in the surfing competition after surfing only 3 days and he competed against 37 kids from the ages of 6-17 years old. That makes me a very proud mom!
Here’s a video to show you what fun these kids had! Enjoy the show! Michael and I hope to see you again this summer at Narragansett beach. Happy Summer days!
First day of camp all the kids received wetsuits and a surf board. Each instructor had 6-8 kids and they gave them instructions on how to attach the strap to their ankle…how to swim out on their board…how to jump up on the board and then they hit the water for some fun!
Michael got up on his board after the third try…amazing!
This is Michael’s new surfing bud…his name ironically is Michael!
This is the beginning of the surfing competition….off they go!
Michael caught a great wave and rode it all the way into shore in the last minute of the heat and that helped him to win 1st place!
Congrats to all the winning champs!!!
Ok…so mom decided to get in on the action!
I did it! But I leave this sport for Michael. He makes it’s look easy…it takes great balance and timing! You give it a try sometime….you’ll see what I mean!
