I am so grateful for these precious little flowers of spring.
I’ve come to the end of my 29 day giving challenge and with all my heart I say it has been one of the best challenges of my life and has helped me to see that even a tiny gift of a smile or hug can be the best gift to a person in need.
Throughout the challenge I have enjoyed journaling my gifts and experiences. It truly helped me to be mindful in developing a conscious habit of reaching out to others. To be aware of each moment, whatever I was doing…whoever I was with.
It kept the gift giving of each day at the top of my mind. Each day I gave with a sense of purpose with honesty and fullness…my spirits soared and I was left feeling revitalized with gratitude in my heart. My life just felt more meaningful and I will continue to give as I have these past 29 days with hope that my giving will help other human beings and my heart will continue to be filled with joy.
So today, I send out a big thank you to every person who chose to take part of the 29 day gift challenge along with me and hope it somehow changed you too.
Here are some of the gifts I gave in my final week.
On Easter, I gave a little plant to each woman in our family to cherish and plant in their garden.
I gave a homemade ricotta pie and some Munson chocolate garden candies to my neighbor Kim who hosted a friendship garden luncheon for 22 of her best friends.
I gave a $25.00 gift card to the Olive Garden along with a thank you note to my friend and rabbit breeder John for letting me borrow the two bunnies “Snickers” and “Snicker Doodle” for Easter and spring photos.
I gave a donation to “Pillows of Love” a non profit organization that provides women and children in crisis with handmade pillow cases and a Bible to encourage them to find shelter in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I made bracelets for my mother and sister in remembrance of our time spent together this past week and our friendship and love for one another.
One of my final gifts was sharing the 29 day giving challenge with two women while we enjoyed time with one another at the pool. They enjoyed hearing about my experience and my stories. They are now going to do the challenge themselves…that put a smile on my face.
So I end my blogging of this challenge…however I face the future with a full heart, determined to create a lasting work of giving. I hope you will too!
